The bible tells us that we should treat others better than ourselves, but how hard is it for the average person to bring that scripture to life and really put it into practice?  Well Carter McIntire did.  Carter had a birthday recently.  Unlike most kids that are fixated on what presents they'll receive, Carter decided he'd rather use his birthday to help others in need, so he asked family & friends to donate household items to LifeLine Ministries to help our clients.  Carter and his family dropped by the center last night to bestow the birthday haul on us.  Brand new microwaves, toaster ovens and towels just to name a few.  Funny thing is, this is the second year in a row that Carter has done this and get this, he influenced his little brother to do just the same thing several months ago.  Hey McIntire parents......you are doing an incredible job modeling generosity and care for the less fortunate in our community.  Thanks Carter!!

Thursday, August 12, 2010ministry center prayer needsby Chris

Each time our offices are open, we receive quite a few requests for prayer, many annonymously.  Here's a look at what's going on in the lives of our clients:

**Shari K. asked that we pray for her children who are currently in foster care.  Christin, Jeliyah, Jordan and Djahri K.  Shari asks us to pray that her kids will understand and accept the decisions she's made.

**Chastity W. brought Maurice to our attention.  He's an 11 year old boy battling leukemia and on life support.  He is not responding well at all to blood transfusions.  Maurice is in critical condition and his life is in jeopardy.  Please lift him before our powerful God!

**Please pray for the Metzger Russell family.

**Dave S. is in ICU recovering from cardiac surgery.

**Billie G. has pneumonia and is strugglling to recover.

**Connie R. requested prayer for herself, her family and her sister.

**Wendy P. asked us to pray that her husband will come home soon to be with their family and do God's will for his life.

**Please pray for Michael H. who is currently choosing to reject God from his life.

**Kenny was in a serious ATV accident and has suffered brain injuries.  Please remember him and his family.

I know how much these people would appreciate your prayers for their lives and families.  Most have no spiritual rock in their lives right now and are anxious to receive hope that only God can provide.  Thanks for praying!

Thursday, August 12, 2010olive garden shares it all (except the wine:)by Chris

We were extremely fortunate recently to begin receiving donated food items from the Olive Garden on Mall Road.  Once a week, we receive upwards of 100 lbs of donated entree's, appetizers and a huge variety of everything else O.G.   Most of our clients will never have the pleasure of dining at Olive Garden due to severe budget restrictions, but we can now take "the garden" to them.  Thanks for the "Hospitaliano"!
