Another month has quickly passed us by and Isaiah House awaits this weekend.  Come join us as we offer a "cool drink of water" on a hot summer day to those desperately in need.  Several hundred people living under bridges, on the river bank or in deplorable housing conditions count on us to give them a "hand up" as they try to get back on their feet.  We'll begin setup in the parking lot of John G. Carlisle School at 9:30 and begin serving at 10:15.  Strapped for time?  Come invest what time you have and leave when you need to.  You will be impacted by the beauty of serving others, total strangers at that, at this outreach.  We never walk away from our time at Carlisle without realizing that God was present and impacting lives in our midst.  Please come join us!

Capernaum, a Young Life group geared toward children with autism, has begun meeting on Sunday nights at the Free Bean Cafe' at the LifeLine center.  One of our goals with the cafe' is to make it available to community groups & church small groups of an evening and on weekends for them to have a comfortable place to meet and build community.  If your small group needs a comfy place to meet with free coffee as a bonus, contact us to explore available dates and times. 

Are you soaking up the lazy,hazy days of summer?  Man, I know I am.  People check out on vacation and embark on a myriad of recreational activities during the summer months.  For our under resourced friends battling poverty, the vacation never comes.  Days are spent wondering where their next meal might come from.  How they'll pay the rent.  Will my utilities be shut off?  Can I invite you to personally make this a "serving summer"?  We need volunteers to help us minister to poverty stricken folks in the Covington inner city.  Saturday July 31 is our next Isaiah House outreach.  No special skills needed.  If you can distribute produce, help folks find clothing sizes they need or just listen to someone as they share the chaos in their lives, then your hired lol.  This outreach takes place in the parking lot of John G. Carlisle School in Covington.  We begin setup at 9:30 and serve people from 10am to Noon.  Come be a part of something bigger than yourself.  See you in the lot!
