LifeLinks 2008.....Baskets, Bogies and Blessings! The Fourth Annual LifeLinks 2008 Golf Classic is in the history books and will be remembered as the most successful yet. God provided 56 golfers and 31 hole sponsors to push our outing revenue past $12,000.00 for the day! (The conversion to "basketnomics" is about 2,400 more carebaskets we can pack in the coming months)
Tayna Fogle gave her personal testimony before we prayed and teed off. If you've not met Tayna, you have missed a major blessing. Tayna received some much needed support from LifeLine Ministries in late 2007 as the Lord used the ministry to furnish her apartment and provide Christmas for her children and grand kids. Since that time, Tayna has allowed God to use her to inspire others to follow and serve Jesus Christ.
After 18 holes, we gathered for a putting contest with a $25,000.00 prize on the line for any golfer making the long putt. With no one holing the long putt, Jason Turner won himself a GPS unit for his car by hitting his putt within 2" of the cup from 30 feet. Great job Jason!
After a great meal of fried chicken and all the trimmings (including home made desserts from Dawn Roberts and her Mom that would make your tongue dance!) we were inspired to serve by our guest speaker, Mr. Doug Pelfrey.
Doug shared that in 15 years of playing football for Scott High School, The University of Kentucky and the Cincinnati Bengals that he had never been on a winning team and that it was not until he began serving Christ that he felt like a winner in the Lord. We're grateful to Doug for making the time to be with us and for affirming the purpose and effectiveness of LifeLine Ministries of NKY.
Once we began the awards ceremony, the hardware really began to fly. Every golfer attending walked away with a quality door prize. Then we recognized the winning and runner up foursomes for the day.
The Winning Foursome: Kenny Kinman,Doug Pelfrey (He was on a winning team that day!), Bill Sheehan and Lance Atkins.
The Runner Up Foursome: Jim Lokesak, Craig Kendrick, Monty Taylor and Glen Stansbury
At the end of the day, we all stood in amazement at what God had done to provide for the ministry through an outing that four years ago boasted 16 golfers and 10 sponsors. Go God!!
If you played with us or sponsored this year, many humble thanks to you or your company for your support. We hope you'll consider being a part of the event again next year. You couldn't compliment us more than by returning in 2009. If you weren't able to join us, please prayfully consider participating in the Fifth Annual LifeLinks Golf Classic.
Since December 2004, LifeLine Ministries has packed and distributed 18,000 care bags and care baskets throughout Northern Kentucky as a tool to share the love of Jesus Christ. The proceeds from this outing will be a spring board toward the next 18,000!
If you are receiving this email, you support LifeLine Ministries in one way, shape or fashion through your prayer support, financial support or by providing much needed hands & feet in service to Jesus. We could not achieve what we do for the kingdom of God without you, so for everything you do for us to see God glorified and the lost served, we offer our sincere thanks and gratitude!!
May God's richest blessings be yours,
Chris Caddell, Lead Servant LifeLine Ministries of NKY A.K.A. "Basketman" |
