Clothes Encounters Lifeline Ministries of Northern Kentucky

When LifeLine Ministries began, we felt sure that God's calling for the ministry was to introduce as many people as possible in Northern Kentucky to Jesus Christ using care baskets and care bags as a outreach tool. Little did we know that God's next steps for the ministry would include children's clothing, baby equipment and household items.

In January of 2007, one of our LifeLine lead team members was purchasing a crib at a local consignment store to gift on the ministry's behalf to a single mom in need. As she paid for the crib, the manager realized that they knew each other from years past. In catching up on life, the manager learned about LifeLine Ministries and its goal to meet physical needs to share God's love with others. Fast forward many months and hundreds of truckloads later and you'll find Clothes Encounters in full force.

We purposely called this outreach "Clothes Encounters" because we want those that we're helping to have an encounter with Jesus through the clothing they receive.

Dawn Roberts oversees this outreach for LifeLine Ministries and does an incredible job. She continually receives calls to the ministry from single mom's and families needing a myriad of items that we're blessed to have on hand thanks to the generosity of our consignment sources. Dawn ministered to 20 individual clients last month alone donating children's clothing, cribs, strollers and many other items. Thanks to the abundance of items we're receiving, we are also able to support other Christian ministries in the area with the excess. Master Provisions and Shoulder to Shoulder, Inc receive bulk loads from LifeLine Ministries weekly to support their work in Ukraine and Newport, KY respectively.

As you can imagine, Dawn needs tremendous support and manpower to keep this outreach moving. There are constant trucking and handling needs. Fortunately, Dawn's Son, Tim Roberts helps with the heavy lifting and Marvin Hennemann provides pickup and delivery support. Give these guys a hand!
